Tiny Space Adventure Lite is a cosmic point-and-click puzzle game where you must escape hostile alien environments using only your wits (and a bit of luck).
Lost in Space
Tiny Space Adventure Lite is, on the surface, a simple point-and-click puzzle game where you help a little spaceman whose rocket has crash-landed in a strange world. It quickly becomes an infuriating challenge to figure out the way out of each level.
The gameplay reminds me a lot of Tiny Thief. Tiny Space Adventure Lite uses the same tap-to-move mechanism, and you need to work out which doors to go through, which levers to pull, and how to manipulate objects in order to find a safe path through each level. It's a great workout for your brain, although there are moments (like in Tiny Thief) where you'll want to just throw your device on the floor and stamp on it in frustration.
Besides the standard puzzle-based gameplay, you need to find hidden aliens and rabbits on each level.
This Lite version of Tiny Space Adventure allows you to play the first four levels of the game. If you want more you'll have to pay for the full version.
Although Tiny Space Adventure Lite is gripping and fun to play, it would be nice if there were more elements to the game, such as player stats, Game Center leaderboards or unlockable items and mini games.
The controls in Tiny Space Adventure Lite are based around hitting a spot for the little dude to move to, and then tapping objects to manipulate them. When you encounter something that you can perform an action with, you'll be alerted with a sign to say so,
The hints system in Tiny Space Adventure Lite is less than subtle. When you tap the 'Help' button, rather than just suggesting what to do next, it offers a complete step-by-step diagram with the solution to the entire level laid out for you. Likewise, it shows you on a map where all the aliens and rabbits are hiding.
Out-of-this world presentation
Tiny Space Adventure Lite has a quirky graphic style in keeping with humorous point-and-click games of old. Colors are vivid and attention to detail is very good.
The music is creepy and mysterious and while it's a tad dull and repetitive alone, the addition of all manner of sci-fi sounds effects and cute alien noises help to make it more interesting and atmospheric.
Adventures in sci-fi
Tiny Space Adventure Lite is a very challenging puzzle game that has been lovingly crafted. It can be frustratingly hard at times - but try to resist the temptation to cheat.
